8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri)
8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.(Wed)
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Sat) - CIRCULATION:
Students Grade 6- 12 may check out up to 10 items for a period of 3 weeks. Parents may borrow 5 items for a period of 3 weeks. We appreciate early returns. - OVERDUE BOOKS:
Students and parents will be reminded of their overdue books once a month. If this is a constant problem, they will not be allowed to check out books till all overdue books are returned. Books can be renewed to avoid an overdue problem. - LOST BOOKS:
The library should be notified immediately if a book is lost. A charge for the replacement cost of the book will be assessed. If the book is found the money will be refunded. Final report cards will be given only after all library books are returned or paid for.
Library Tutorial
The American Embassy School Library is a well-equipped, world-class library. The available resources offer an amazing variety of learning experiences for all ages.
The MS/HS Library supports the American Embassy School ‘s mission statement. It enables and inspires its students to be passionate learners, responsible citizens, and fulfilled individuals, who make well-informed choices in a diverse and dynamic world. Our role is to provide the human and material resources that will enable students and others in the AES community to develop these skills.
Our library curriculum incorporates the American Association of School Librarians’ Standards for the 21st Century Learner. These have been modified to meet our specific goals: AES Library Standards 2016-17
It is our goal to help all students, staff and parents use all resources and services found in the library to its maximum potential. The vast collection of books (over 33,000 fiction, non fiction and reference), magazines (138) and DVD’s (over 2200). In addition of our print collection, we have a subscription to OverDrive ebooks (over 1200) and RBdigital e-magazines (31) which seek to support the instructional and recreational reading/research needs of the school community.
