Environment Issue Project

You have been commissioned to produce a creative picture book or an infographic about an environmental issue you feel passionate about.

Project Packet

For this research project you find the most up-to-date information from online databases.  Each database can assist you in a variety of ways.  You will also be using NoodleTools to collect and organize your information.

Asia Countries:  Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, China (PRC), Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, North Korea, South Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Philippines, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Syria, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen.

Day One

  • Pick 2 or 3 countries from the list above that interest you.  As you may not be sure of what specific environmental issues exist in each country, World Geography is a good place to start.
    • World Geography:  Go to a country – Geography – Environment
    • Decide on a Country
    • Pick an Environmental Issue:  One country may have more than one issue.  For example:  air pollution and desertification.
  • NoodleTools:  Sign up for a NoodleTools Account

 

 

Day Two 

  • NoodleTools:  Create a Project
  • Encyclopedia Britannica:  This will give you a brief review of your issue.  For example:  Desertification
  • NoodleTools:  Create a citation card using Encyclopedia Britannica
  • NoodleTools:  Create an Outline – use the Content Requirement from your packet to create the outline
  • Newsbank:  Find current newspaper articles on your particular country and the issue.
  • NoodleTools: Create a Note Card on Noodle tools 

Day Three

Continue to research and create citations and notecards according to your outline

  • Questia:  Look for newspaper articles
  • Books:  Browse through the books on the cart in the library
